Since I was a child, I have always spoken to animals in Ukrainian when I really wanted them to understand. For some odd reason, I always thought they could understand Ukrainian better than English.
Yesterday, I found myself talking to the donkeys in Ukrainian to calm them when they arrived for the summer retreat on our land. I think they love it here. They started rolling around right away. The grass was tall and fresh. The water was clean and refreshing. And they understood what I was saying. At least the told me they did.
I wonder if anyone else does the same?
